Chamber Music Ensembles

Chamber Music Ensembles @ El Camino College

 

The WOODWIND ENSEMBLES rehearse and perform literature written for combinations of woodwinds in choirs of like instruments (all flutes, or clarinets, or saxophones) and mixed instruments. The ensembles include trios, quartets, quintets and larger ensembles, and may be combined with non-woodwind instruments to complete the instrumentation appropriate to the selected literature. Performances are held on campus and in the community. Members receive college credit by enrolling in WOODWIND ENSEMBLES (MU 60) or through non-credit participation in WOODWIND ENSEMBLES FOR THE OLDER ADULT (MU 560). 

The BRASS ENSEMBLES rehearse and perform literature written for combinations of brass instruments. The ensembles include trios, quartets, quintets and larger ensembles, and may be combined with non-brass instruments to complete the instrumentation appropriate to the selected literature. Performances are held on campus and in the community. Members receive college credit by enrolling in BRASS ENSEMBLES (MU 61) or through non-credit participation in BRASS ENSEMBLES FOR THE OLDER ADULT (MU 561). 

The PERCUSSION ENSEMBLES rehearse and perform literature written for combinations of melody and/or rhythm percussion instruments. The ensembles include trios, quartets, quintets and larger ensembles, and may be combined with wind or string instruments to complete the instrumentation appropriate to the selected literature. Performances are held on campus and in the community. Members receive college credit by enrolling in PERCUSSION ENSEMBLES (MU 62) or through non-credit participation in PERCUSSION ENSEMBLES FOR THE OLDER ADULT (MU 562).  

REHEARSALS for all of these ensembles are held in the Band Room, Marsee Auditorium Room 130, at the specified times. The entrance to the rehearsal room is located off the patio on the north side of the auditorium. Parking is located nearby in the newly complete structure just behind the auditorium. An El Camino College parking permit is required. Sheet music and folders will be issued to all students. The ECC Instrumental Music Department has a limited number of instruments which may be checked out for use in the ensembles.
