How Does Assessment Improve Student Learning?

The goal of learning outcomes assessment is to improve student learning and to increase student success. Faculty set targets and success standards in order to evaluate whether students are achieving learning outcomes. Using assessment results, faculty can respond with a range of activities in order to improve students learning and even the assessment process itself. These potential actions include using new teaching strategies, proposing curricular changes, requesting interventions and/or student support, and even raising expectations and improving program rigor. Click on the link below to view possible steps based on assessment results and whether success standards are met.
