Meeting Our Community’s Educational Needs

El Camino College proudly serves local students and families who rely on us for affordable, high-quality education, job training, and university transfer opportunities.

As the cost of attending California’s public universities has risen to more than six times the cost of community college, students depend on El Camino more than ever to access the education and skills they need without taking on crushing debt.

We must continue expanding opportunities for students to earn college credits and certificates, build job skills, and transfer to four-year institutions.

Key Education Priorities

When invited to respond to a recent community survey (Community Survey Results), the community identified several key higher education priorities, including upgrading job training and vocational programs that prepare the future workforce—such as nursing, firefighting, law enforcement, and other first responder careers, as well as skilled trades including welding and construction.

Residents also emphasized the importance of:
