College Council
The College Council serves as the primary recommending body of the College, unless otherwise addressed by state law. It includes representation of all constituent groups (students, faculty, staff, and administrators) and provides them with a venue to participate in developing recommendations to the Superintendent/President that have college-wide impact. The College Council facilitates communication among constituent groups and advances collaboration with the Academic Senate, the Associated Students Organization, and the participatory governance committees. It engages in robust dialogue on matters related to college planning, decision-making, and resource allocation. The College Council functions primarily on consensus and interest-based decision-making.
Commencing March 2026, the review of Board Policies and Administrative Procedures was separated from the College Council process and assigned to a dedicated, operational, non-affilliated Policy and Procedure Review Committee. The Committee is charged with the technical review and recommendation of updates to policies and procedures and will continue to conduct reviews on a five-year cycle to ensure documents remain accurate, relevant, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

Meetings
College Council meets the third Monday for the monthly hybrid meeting from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Kenneth A. Brown Board Room, ADMIN 150, unless otherwise noted. Campus constituents and non-voting members have the option to attend the monthly hybrid meeting via Zoom.
