Community Invited to Compete in El Camino Robotics Exhibition
El Camino College invites all students, faculty, staff, high school students, and community members to enter the upcoming spring Robotics Exhibition set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 29 throughout the first floor of the ITEC Building. This unique competition features original inventions and innovative machines that will compete for a grand prize.
El Camino’s Industry & Technology Division and the Robotics Club are co-hosts of the event that spotlights creative and innovative robotics projects. Robots are due May 14 and must be approved in advance through a poster board or presentation that describes the objective and design process of the entry.
Students in El Camino’s exceptional robotics program can explore their interests in robotics and discover potential careers in science and engineering. Through the active Robotics Club, along with specialized classes and labs, students can build and test different robots while learning about fabrication technologies. Basic electronics theory and programming, electro-mechanical assembly, and motors/micro-controller operation are also part of the curriculum. Students of all ages can try robotics at El Camino, which offers guidance and opportunities to construct prototype machines, along with support with overcoming challenges and solving problems.
El Camino Community College District encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation, or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible, but no later than seven days prior to the event.
