El Camino College Foundation Surpasses $1 Million in Scholarships for Second Consecutive Year
The El Camino College Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to more than 675 El Camino College students, marking the second consecutive year the Foundation has surpassed the $1 million milestone in scholarship support.
Scholarships range from $500 to $16,000 and are available to students across all majors and academic programs. Awards support students continuing their education at El Camino College as well as El Camino students transferring to four-year colleges and universities.
“Scholarships can make an important difference in a student’s ability to remain focused on their education and reach their academic goals,” said El Camino College Superintendent/President Dr. Brenda Thames. “We are grateful to the generous donors who continue to invest in our students.”
Scholarship recipients represent the many academic pathways available at the college, pursuing degrees, certificates and transfer opportunities in fields ranging from business and healthcare to the arts, sciences, technology and career education.
“Reaching more than $1 million in scholarships for a second consecutive year is a wonderful reflection of the generosity of our community,” said Andrea Sala, Executive Director of the El Camino College Foundation. “We are proud to connect our donors with students who are working hard to achieve their educational goals, whether that means completing their education at El Camino, entering the workforce, or transferring to a four-year university.”
The Foundation’s scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, community organizations, and other donors who believe in the potential of El Camino’s students. Scholarships help students manage the costs associated with pursuing a college education, including tuition, books, transportation, and other educational expenses.
The El Camino College Foundation is committed to supporting student success and enhancing educational opportunities at El Camino through scholarships, programs, facilities, and other initiatives. The Foundation’s philanthropic efforts help ensure that students have the resources and opportunities they need to achieve their educational and career goals.
