El Camino College to Present Annual Summer Kid’s College Program
Registration is now open for the El Camino College Community Education department’s annual summer Kid’s College program for children entering grades three through 12. The program runs July 11 through Aug. 5 and includes one-week sessions with a choice of in-person and live online classes.
Kid's College not-for-credit workshops and classes are designed for serious summer fun with an emphasis on inspiring a sense of wonder and imagination for learning.
Offerings feature morning and/or afternoon courses, complete with a supervised lunchtime for full-day students. An easy drop-off and pick-up location at the roundabout at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Lemoli Avenue is available.
A sample list of available classes include: “Make Your First Video Game,” “Lego Robotics,” “Drawing & Illustration,” “Kid's College Chefs – Healthy Cooking Fun!,” “VEX IQ Code & Build Robotics,” “High School Algebra,” “High School Geometry,” “Arduino Electronics and Code,” “Film School,” “Adventures in Middle School Writing,” “Writing Skills Development for High School Composition,” Minecraft Designers,” “Roblox Coders & Entrepreneurs,” “Write On! Writing Camp Grades 3-4,” “Super Cool Math Grades 4-5,” “Spanish Tutoring,” “Math Tutoring,” and “Stop Motion Animation.”
All children in grades three-12 are invited to enroll. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. Course fees range from $159-$295 per class. Registration is required: The first session’s registration deadline is June 30, second session deadline is July 11, third session deadline is July 18, and the fourth session deadline is July 25. Families are encouraged to enroll now as classes sell out quickly.
