El Camino College's award-winning Kid's College is back this summer with its most ambitious and engaging lineup yet, offering hands-on workshops designed to spark curiosity, fuel creativity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Running July 6 through August 6, Kid's College transforms El Camino College's campus into a hub of exploration and discovery for students in grades 3-12. The program features five one-week sessions with morning and afternoon options, allowing students to customize their summer experience while exploring new interests in a fun, supportive environment. This year's standout offerings provide young learners with unique access to the college's professional facilities and accomplished instructors. Among the highlights:
Art Classes in a Professional Gallery Setting
Young artists will create and explore their creativity inside El Camino College's beautiful Art Gallery and Arts Complex, gaining hands-on experience in an inspiring environment typically reserved for college students and exhibiting artists.
Sourdough Bread Baking in a Commercial Kitchen
Budding bakers will learn the art and science of sourdough breadmaking in one of El Camino College's professional culinary kitchens. A special parent-and-child option allows families to participate together, creating a memorable shared experience while learning practical culinary skills.
Journalism Camp Inspired by a Distinguished Alumna
Future reporters and storytellers will have the opportunity to learn from award-winning journalists in an immersive newsroom setting. The camp takes place in the same El Camino College newsroom where alumna Lauren Sánchez first honed her skills before launching a successful career in journalism and media.
