Parent and Community Resource Fair Scheduled for El Camino College
Parenting students, faculty, staff, their children, and all parenting community members are invited to El Camino College for an entertaining, informative, and free Parent and Community Resource Fair on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Student Services Plaza.
El Camino’s Student Services and Childhood Education Department are sponsoring the event, which is open to the public and designed to connect parents to important resources in a welcoming environment with activities for the whole family.
“Raising children is a beautiful journey, but definitely not easy,” said childhood education professor Cynthia Cervantes. “The Parent and Community Resource Fair intends to provide a supportive environment for parents to learn more about community resources. This event tells our parenting community and their families that they are welcome at El Camino College and that El Camino College cares for their holistic well-being.”
Information about free or low-cost resources will be provided by El Camino and area community organizations, covering areas such as child care, mental health resources, education, and health care, among others.
The El Camino Community College District encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation, or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Cynthia Cervantes at [email protected] as soon as possible, but no later than seven days prior to the event.
Families can make a reservation and learn more about the El Camino College Parent and Community Resource Fair at www.elcamino.edu/events/parent-community-resource-fair/.
