What is BetterMynd?

El Camino College is excited to offer BetterMynd - a telehealth program for El Camino College students.

The service will provide access to virtual mental health care from anywhere in the United States, with no cost to visit!

Whether you're anxious or overwhelmed, you will be able to talk to a licensed provider from your smartphone or any web-enabled device. Licensed providers are available to offer mental health support via phone or secure video visits.

How to Get Started

Step 1: Register

Quickly and easily sign up for an account through your college's unique BetterMynd portal. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. 

Step 2: Find a Therapist

Easily explore BetterMynd's extensive and diverse network of therapists to find the therapist that's exactly right for you and your needs.

Step 3: Schedule a Session

See your therapist's availability and make an appointment for a time that works with your schedule, including nights and weekends.

Step 4: Show  Up for Your Session

Just log in to BetterMynd to easily attend your secure and confidential video-therapy session from the privacy of anywhere you can bring your laptop or smartphone.

 

Expanded Well-Being Workshop Access

  • We are excited to share that BetterMynd workshops are now available to non-credit students, effective immediately.

Faculty/Staff Access Update

  • Faculty and staff access to BetterMynd has concluded.
  • All affected users were notified directly by BetterMynd at least one month in advance and were provided with information about alternative support through EASE.
  • For-credit students continue to have access to unlimited virtual counseling sessions and unlimited Well-Being Workshops.

Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • A new late cancellation and no-show policy is in effect as of February 19.
  • After three (3) missed or late session cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice), your access to unlimited counseling sessions will be paused until you check-in with Student Health Services at (310) 660-3643. After check-in, as appropriate, your access to unlimited counseling sessions will be immediately resumed.

Users can then have visits from any web-enabled device – smartphone, laptop, or desktop. BetterMynd is available from anywhere in the United States.

  • Scheduled Counseling: scheduled options to speak to a licensed counselor. 
  • Self-Care Workshops FOR STUDENTS ONLY: Weekly workshops, plus specialized discussions throughout the year.

Zip, zero, zilch! BetterMynd services are free to all enrolled El Camino College students.
