At El Camino College, we empower students to become successful learners every step of the way.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is not your average tutoring session. They are group study sessions led by trained peer SI Coaches. Our coaches demonstrate mastery of the subjects they support, and are trained to implement learning strategies and collaborative activities in their group study sessions.

SI sessions are peer-led study group sessions where students review class content and materials on a weekly basis.

A typical tutoring session is one on one, and usually involves a general overview of class content.
SI Coaches attend their supported class and collaborate with professors to develop a deep dive in class content. SI study sessions are powered by group interaction, by participating in structured activities students learn new study habits and master understanding class content together.
