We are looking for a qualified preschool teacher to join our staff. This is a great opportunity for a responsible, energetic, caring individual with a team player attitude and excellent 
communication skills. Our small, state licensed, NAEYC accredited, with a developmental 
philosophy school is located just a few blocks from the beach in a family orientated community. We strive for a 1:8 teacher/child ratio. Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation criteria which 
includes their 10 standards and Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Title 22 is a must. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of running a preschool classroom which includes but not limited to preparation of curriculum and activities, staff training and 
scheduling, compliance with the Department of Social Services and NAEYC, etc. Proficient in 
computer and communication skills.

The South Bay Workforce Investment Board strives to assist schools with virtual services through our Virtual
Learning Ambassadors (VLA). VLA’s are paid student interns who support elementary/middle/ high school
students, teachers and parents who need assistance adapting to a digital presence during COVID-19.
Are paid college student interns from the ages of 18-24
Interns will receive 20 hours of paid training

Position details

-Care for a toddler (2 yrs 9 months) and infant (4 months) mainly while another adult is home. Would assist in mealtime, bedtime, play, outings. Also would help with household duties and errands (both child-related and non-child related), e.g. light cleaning, tidying, organizing, laundry, grocery shopping, errands, cooking/meal prep (if able, not a requirement to know how to cook). Located in North Redondo Beach.

-$18/hour, however potential for more if candidate has significant relevant experience/qualifications

-Schedule: weekday late afternoons/evenings (typically after 4pm, up until 8/8:30pm), and first 2 weekends of the month (all day Sat/Sun). Ideally, we would front load the hours the first half of the month, when the most help is needed, and have lighter hours the second half of the month (e.g. just 2-3 evenings per week).

-High school degree required; bonus to have relevant educational background (e.g. studying childhood development)

- Must have valid driver’s license and be fully vaccinated for COVID (including booster if applicable) and flu

- Prior experience caring for infants and toddlers required

- Relevant references for prior childcare related jobs appreciated
