Grants Development & Management Office

The El Camino College Grants Development & Management Office provides guidance, support and hands-on assistance to managers, faculty and staff who seek and manage grant-funded projects.

Vision

The Grants Development and Management Office fosters a dynamic culture of grant-seeking and collaboration that expands the District’s access to external resources, fuels innovation and research, and strengthens partnerships to advance student success and institutional excellence.

The Grants Office can help turn your grant idea into a completed proposal.  We provide the following services to support proposal development and project start-up:

 

  • Foster project ideas with ECCCD community partners.
  • Research and identify funding opportunities from external sources for projects and programs that align with the Districts goals and priorities.
  • Point of contact with grantor and project partners during the proposal development process.
  • Facilitate effective project management and coordination.
  • Technical editing of the proposal narrative based upon content provided by project team/subject matter experts.
  • Draft letters of commitment/support for ECC administrators and project partners.
  • Help develop a project budget that meets the grantor’s definition of allowable costs.
  • Work with stakeholders to align proposal objectives.
  • Create detailed project plans to ensure timely completion of grant proposals to awarding agencies.
  • Assist in completing forms in application package.
  • Ensure deadlines are met by establishing priorities and a calendar of grant development and management activities (e.g., target dates for information gathering, writing and editing assignments, etc.)
  • Assign tasks, as needed, to the proposal team, to ensure balanced workloads and adherence to timelines.
  • Manage the preparation of proposals for successful submission to external agencies.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, timeliness of submission delivery, and compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
