100 Years Strong: Celebrating Black Diaspora's Love, Community and Resilience
This library exhibit celebrates a century of African American achievements, evolving
from a week in February to a month-long observance recognized in 1976, with the past
100 years highlighting civil rights, cultural growth, and ongoing contributions through
education, museums, supporting Black businesses, and exploring Black literature, art,
philosophy and history.

Join us for a day filled with joy, cultural expression, and movement led by Daunté
"KINGTAE" Fyall, a passionate dance instructor, performing artist, culture bearer and motivational
speaker.
This event will feature local Black-Owned businesses selling products and non-profit
organizations providing information.

DREAMSCAPE by Rickerby Hinds
Dreamscape is a play that depicts the death and inner life of a young woman who dreams
though the impact of the twelve bullets that kill her.
Rickerby Hinds is a prominent playwright and professor known for his innovative contributions
to hip-hop theater. His work often explores themes of race, identity and cultural
expression.
Born in Honduras and immigrating to South Central Los Angeles at age 13, he debuted
his groundbreaking play "Daze to Come" in 1989, which was the first full-length play
to use hip-hop as its primary language.
His plays have empowered a new generation of playwrights and continue to resonate
with audiences across diverse backgrounds.
