The Online Prerequisite Clearance Form is the convenient way to have prerequisites cleared to register for specific classes for the upcoming semester.

**In general, prerequisite clearances sent during school holidays will be reviewed
the next business day.**
NEW STUDENTS - If you are a new to college student (from high school), fill out the English and
Math Placement survey, located on your MyECC account. Click here for more information on the survey.
The Counseling Office can take up to five business days to process your request, especially
during the registration period.
If you are transferring to El Camino from another college/university and need your
transcripts fully reviewed by a counselor, you can schedule a counseling appointment.
If you believe a course taken at another college or university meets the prerequisite for an El Camino College course you to enroll in, please submit the Online Prerequisite Clearance Form and appropriate transcripts, test scores, etc. for review.
Make sure that you fill out the form completely and that all attachments have your identifying information – name, student ID number, name of the college/university, etc. Clearances with incomplete documents will be delayed and/or denied. Screenshots of transcripts with missing information will be denied.
The hours of operation for the online prerequisite clearance processing are generally Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Emails received after hours will be reviewed the next business day. Allow three to five business days for processing online clearance requests. School holidays will delay processing time.
A condition students must meet to enroll in a course.
A course taken simultaneously to enroll in another course.
A recommended, but not required, course taken with or before another course.
