Financial Aid & Advocacy Student Training (FAAST)

As of 2025, 42.7 million borrowers owe more than $1.6 trillion in student debt across the country. As the cost of college rises, so does the need for financial aid. Lucky for you, South Bay Promise (SBP) eligible students can get their enrollment fees paid for the first two years at El Camino College!!!

Financial aid can be a challenging topic to navigate but we're here to help simplify that process. This summer, all incoming First Year Experience (FYE) students are required to attend a FAAST workshop. We're offering both in-person and limited virtual options. The following topics will be covered:

  • Understanding your award letter
  • How and when you will receive your financial aid
  • How to maximize your financial aid awards
  • How to maintain financial aid eligibility
  • How academics affect your financial aid
  • Explaining Bank Mobile
  • Student success at ECC

... and how to apply for ECC scholarships! In 2023, El Camino College students were awarded more than 600 scholarships totaling nearly $900,000!!

Understanding how you’ll pay for your education is essential.
