The Honors Transfer Program (HTP) provides a unique learning environment that stresses academic excellence and develops the awareness necessary to achieve this goal. The major objective of the program is to prepare students to transfer by focusing on advanced reading, writing, critical thinking, and study skills. Honors courses are academically enriched to stimulate students intellectually, encourage independent critical thinking, and promote close interaction between students and faculty.
Honors courses fit into requirements of various associate degrees, as well as requirements needed to transfer to the University of California, California State University, private and out-of-state institutions. Generally, students in the HTP complete the same number of courses as other students planning to transfer.
The Honors Transfer Club offers honors students an extracurricular outlet for connecting with fellow honors students. Field trips, fundraising bashes, social get-togethers, and more!
We meet every other Thursday at 1-1:50 p.m. in Humanities 210 throughout the semester. Check the webpage for more info.
The HTP Advisory Council is a group of ECC faulty, administrators, counselors, staff, and students who work together to formulate program policies and to make decisions to improve the quality and success of the HTP. The Council, led by the HTP Co-Directors, meets at least once per semester.
