How It Works

The Student Equity & Achievement (SEA) Center Peer Mentors are former students or current ECC students. Peer mentors guide students toward academic and personal success by identifying and explaining existing campus and community resources.

Students can meet with a Peer Mentor on a one-on-one basis to discuss important issues or challenges. Working with a peer mentor is a great way to succeed in college. Peer mentors have your back. They’re students too, so they’re going through the same things you are. When you meet with a peer mentor, they can help you with the following:

  • College life
  • Study skills
  • Time management
  • Campus involvement
  • Student services
  • Campus resources
  • Departmental Referrals
  • Community Resources

Online Peer Mentor Support

Students are welcome to sign up for online support. Online support is available, days and times vary by PASS Mentor.  Appointments should be made 24 hours in advance.  Appointments can be made using the Online Form. In some cases, PASS Mentors will contact the student with a code required to join the support session.

We use several web-based platforms for tutoring sessions, including Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, and GoBoard. Your PASS peer mentor will let you know which option you’ll work in.
