Financial Aid Help Desk

To protect your personal information, have your ECC Student ID or any government-issued photo ID ready when working with the Financial Aid Office. Without a photo ID, we can only answer general financial aid questions.

We recommend that you use a laptop or computer for Zoom. This will allow you to easily use the share screen feature and review documents with Financial Aid staff online. Please call from a quiet and distraction free environment. Zoom calls while operating a vehicle are prohibited. Remember to wear proper clothing when on camera. Lewd, indecent, or obscene conduct or expression is prohibited under the student code of conduct Administrative Procedure 5500.

The Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Loss of California College Promise Grant (CCPG) Appeal will be available again starting Monday, June 19, 2023. The deadline to appeal for Summer term is Thursday, July 27, 2023.

If you need help with the appeal please speak to an ECC counselor for guidance and support or attend a SAP Appeal Workshop by clicking this link: Register Online. Remember the following when submitting the appeal:

  1. Attach documentation for each term you're not meeting SAP (2.0 GPA & 67% completion rate)
  2. If you do not know the exact reason you are submitting an appeal you can check your SAP status on the Financial Aid Self Service Portal 
  3. Attach your current counselor approved comprehensive educational plan or Lock-in-List (Maximum Time Frame Appeals Only)
  4. Appeal decisions may take up to three to four weeks depending on the number of applications received

Apply for Financial Aid FAFSA & California Dream Act Application

Apply now for Financial Aid and don't delay! Funds are limited so apply early and be ready for the 2022-23 or 2023-24 academic year. The 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act application application covers Fall 2022, Winter 2023, Spring 2023 & Summer 2023. If you are attending ECC in the summer, apply for the 2022-23 award year. The deadline to apply for 2022-23 is Friday, June 9, 2023. The 2023-24 award year for financial aid begins in fall 2023.

If you want to apply in person at the ECC Financial Aid Lab (SSB-229) remember to bring your financial documents for you and your parent(s) as a dependent student. Examples of things to have are social security numbers, date of birth, tax returns or wages (W2). For additional information on the documents needed please visit FAFSA Help

Warrior Wealth Plan - Financial Literacy Workshops for ECC

 

The Warrior Wealth Plan is a financial literacy workshop designed to give you a simple and easy to understand path towards building wealth and having long term financial stability. ECC Financial Aid & Basic Needs is hosting a financial wellness workshop designed to give students a simple and easy to understand path towards building wealth and having long term financial stability. This one hour workshop is designed to help you understand where you can decrease financial risks and increase your savings to begin building for your future.

Emergency Assistance

El Camino has created the Warrior Emergency Grant to support students who may need additional financial support due to an emergency. The Warrior Emergency Grant committee determines eligibility and notifies applicants of its decision within fourteen (14) business days. The maximum award amount will be determined as requests for assistance continue to be accepted.
