Health Information

Learn about medical insurance, on-campus health services, mental health resources, and walk-in urgent care facilities available to you as an international student.

For life-threatening emergencies, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital.

All international students on an F-1 visa who are enrolled at El Camino College are required to purchase medical insurance through our college-approved carrier. The cost is $1,360.68 per calendar year (12 months) and is split into two payments of $680.34 every 6 months billed with your tuition at time of registration for each semester (fall and spring). More information about the student medical insurance plan for ECC students can be found at Lewermark Student Insurance

You must download your card every semester.  Learn how with this video:

Due to COVID-19, the Campus Health Center is closed to walk-in and emergency patients

Student Health Services is providing Virtual Telemedicine and Telemental Health Services to ECC students who meet eligibility criteria. On-site/face-to-face medical services for free/low cost medication pickup and diagnostic testing/assessment may be scheduled online as determined appropriate by medical professionals.

All mental health services and workshops/support groups are being held virtually. Please call 310-660-3643 or email ECCStudentHealth@elcamino.edu during regular hours with any further questions.
