Student Spotlight: Kenneth Tamakloe

Kenneth Tamakloe recommends El Camino to prospective students every chance he gets. His best advice? Use free resources such as the Virtual Information Desk, Writing Center and the Laptop Loan Program. Tamakloe also advises new students to attend lectures and stay on top of their studies.

“El Camino cares about its students and there is a ton of help for whatever a student might need so check your emails regularly to find out,” he added. “Being a Warrior means being part of the El Camino family. It means you are part of a community that helps anyone who might have an issue or a concern. It means helping others attain their education goals by removing the barriers they might face. It means showing decency and love to people.”

Tamakloe said El Camino was the perfect choice for him; he is part of the Honors Transfer Program and plans to graduate with a nursing degree, debt free. Best of all, he says, is becoming part of Warrior family, where you can get the help you need to do anything, which be invaluable when he’s ready to transfer to California State University, Dominguez to complete his bachelor’s degree in nursing.

“El Camino is the easiest way to reset after high school and transfer to your dream school through the connections the college has with various campuses” he said. “It just feels right and smart to go to El Camino before transferring to a four-year college.”
