Graduation Intents and Petitions For Certificates
We are now accepting intents/petitions for Summer 2025. The deadline to file an Intent to Graduate for Summer 2025 is Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
We are no longer accepting intents/petitions for Spring 2025. The deadline to file an Intent to Graduate for Spring 2025 was Friday, February 28, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
Graduation intents will not be reviewed until after the filing period has ended. You will receive an email from [email protected] once your intent has been evaluated.

The filing period for Spring 2022 ended on February 25, 2022.
The period to file an intent for Summer 2022 begins June 13 and ends at 4:00 pm on July 7, 2022.
Petitions filed after the deadline will not be considered.
The Initial Evaluation Process Will Begin:
- Mid-August for Summer Intents
- Late-October for Fall Intents
- The end of February for Spring Intents
The Filing Periods Will Typically Begin A Week After The Previous Filing Period Has Ended.
When you submit an intent and/or petition you will receive an email from [email protected] informing you we received your request and that it will be evaluated during the evaluation period for which you applied.
Assistance with Graduation
- Forms will only be available online during the filing period. Intent to Graduate and Petition for a Certificate must be submitted online by the posted deadline. Late request will not be accepted please file for the next graduation filing period.

Requirements
Have all official transcripts from former college(s) on file at El Camino College. Failure to provide these transcripts can delay your graduation intent and prevent you from graduating in the semester you selected.
Complete the online form accurately, and completely during the filing. Missing information will slow the processing of your intent or petition.
Meet the published deadline as found in the class schedule. If you do not submit your request(s) by the published deadline, your Intent or Petition will not be considered.

Commencement Ceremony
When is Graduation?
The Commencement Ceremony at El Camino College takes place annually on the last Friday of the Spring semester at 4:00 p.m. This celebratory event honors students earning degrees or certificates for the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms of the academic year. For example, students completing their studies in Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Winter 2025 or Spring 2025 are invited to participate in the Spring 2025 ceremony

Degrees and/or Certificates will be available for pick-up once the final evaluations for all have been completed for the term and accomplishments are posted to the transcripts. You will be notified via the email posted on your intent when they are ready for pick up.
