Admission & Applications Info

The International Student Program (ISP) team includes immigration advisers and academic counselors and who will help with all aspects of your college experience, from admissions and visas to campus life, degree programs, and assistance with transferring to a four-year university.

Due to COVID-19, some application procedures have changed, however El Camino College is still accepting applications for the International Students Program. Watch the following video to walk through the ISP application and admission process.

International (F-1 Visa) Student Application

The Spring 2022 application deadline is February 1, 2022.  ISP is now accepting Fall 2022 applications!  Deadline to apply is August 1, 2022.

Application Process

Before international students are admitted and issued a Form I-20, they must submit the following to ISP@elcamino.edu:

  • Completed application form including a recent photo;
  • Letter of financial support from a sponsor's bank for a $21,500 USD minimum;
  • Copy of passport information page;
  • Provide transcripts of college and secondary grades translated into English, bearing the school seal, and signed by the registrar or other appropriate official; and
  • Provide a copy of an English proficiency test (not required if your native language is English). If you do not have English proficiency test results (or scored too low), go to our Intensive English Program page to apply.
  • Enclose a $50 processing fee; if outside of the U.S., pay the $50 fee through Flywire;

Students email application documents in one email with attachments directly to isp@elcamino.edu.

Please communicate with only one person from the ISP office regarding your application.

Transfer students will submit the following application packet to ISP@elcamino.edu:

  • Completed application form including a recent photo;

  • Copy of your current I-20
  • Copy of your F-1 visa with your application

Once you have been issued an acceptance letter, you will give the acceptance letter to your current school in order to transfer your I-20 record from your current school to El Camino College

After you receive your acceptance documents:

Attend the Mandatory Three Part Orientation:

  • Attend the Online Canvas Orientation by the deadline noted in your acceptance letter
  • Attend the Live Virtual Orientation via Zoom (date provided in your acceptance letter)
  • Come In-Person to Check-in at El Camino College on the date given in your acceptance letter

New Students will complete the following throughout the orientations PRIOR to arrival in the U.S.:

  • Complete ESL placement testing
  • Meet with the academic counselor
  • Register for your classes
