Pay No Tuition or Fees

We understand that school debt can prevent you from starting or re-engaging your pursuit for higher education. That's why we're offering solutions to help ease the cost of attending college.

How it Works

The Tuition Relief Program, as part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), offers no tuition and fees to new students as well as debt relief to students with outstanding student balances. 

Which Type of Student Are You?

El Camino College is now offering no tuition and fees to  students for the summer and fall 2022. This program covers all students who qualify under the eligibility requirements listed below and will pay for your summer and/or fall tuition and fees. Please note this is a limited time program and only applies to summer and fall 2022. The deadline to apply is September 11, 2022, at 11:59 pm.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to qualify for the Tuition Relief Program, you must complete the three (3) requirements below:

  • Submit an Admission Application for ECC through CCCApply if you have not attended ECC for two or more semesters
  • Apply for Financial Aid by submitting a current year (2021-22 for Summer or 2022-23 for Fall) FAFSA or CADAA
    • Even if you don't think you qualify for Financial Aid this is a requirement for tuition relief
    • International F-1 Visa Students are exempt from the financial aid requirement
  • You must be enrolled in at least three (3) units for summer, six (6) units for fall
    • DSPS students are exempt from the minimum unit requirement

Program Limitations:

The ECC Tuition Relief program applies to your current student debt for tuition and fees at ECC only. It does not cover student loan or private debt. Student debt at ECC includes the following:

  • Tuition (Enrollment Fees)
  • Health Services Fee
  • Parking Fee
  • Student Activity Fee
  • Student Representation Fee
  • Late Fees

The maximum award per term is $1,200 which will be credited directly to your tuition and fees. If you are eligible, you will be awarded and marked as exempt for the drop for non-payment.  Final award amounts will be determined and updated after census for summer and fall.

To help students who may have faced financial hardship due to the pandemic, El Camino College has removed the debt of students enrolled between spring 2020 and spring 2022. This was made possible by using the federal government’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, (HEERF).

El Camino College encourages students to re-enroll and take advantage of the numerous ways to waive tuition for summer and fall terms.

We are forgiving student balances for our campus prior to spring 2020, especially when the debt is preventing you from re-engaging in your pursuit of a college education. This program will only cover your tuition and fees for prior terms at ECC.
