Outreach and School Relations

Timeline for New Students Starting Fall 2020

October

  • Apply for Admission for Fall 2020 online!
    • Fall 2020 application opens October 1, 2019
    • Make sure to include your social security number (if you have one) on your application to avoid issues with financial aid and/or residency misclassification
    • Receive your 7-digit ECC Student ID Number and MyECC login information in 1-2 business days. Check your email!
  • 2020-21 Financial Aid applications also open October 1, 2019
  • Visit your high school’s College & Career Center to find out when El Camino will be at your campus

November

  • Login to your MyECC to complete English and Mathematics Placement Survey
  • Attend College Night at El Camino on November 13, 2019
  • Apply online for the South Bay Promise! Make sure to review all application requirements

December

January

  • Happy New Year!
    • Deadline to complete English and Mathematics Placement Survey, Orientation, and Educational Plan for Fall 2020 priority registration is April 30, 2020
  • Visit Financial Aid Computer Lab at El Camino to start/complete Financial Aid application
  • Connect with Student Support Programs

  • Log into MyECC to view your Registration Appointment date and time
  • Register for classes
    • Help is available! Visit the Warrior Welcome Center at El Camino College

June

July

  • The fall semester is around the corner!
    • Pay your fees before the drop for non-payment deadline 
    • Purchase your parking permit (optional)
    • Take your Student ID Card photo and purchase your textbooks

August

  • Semester begins Saturday, August 22, 2020
    • Weekday classes begin Monday, August 24, 2020

Orientation

There are 2 ways to complete the New Student Orientation:

Online – View using MyECC
In-Person – Call the Counseling Office or view Upcoming Events for orientation opportunities.


Assessment Survey

The English and Mathematics Placement Survey can be found in MyECC.


Educational Plan

New students can check the Upcoming Events web page, or make a Counseling Appointment to complete their educational plan.

If you are an in-district high school student, look for opportunities to complete an educational plan with an ECC Counselor at your high school, or as part of a High School Visit to El Camino College campus. 


Campus Tours

Submit the Campus Tour Request Form.

If you are an in-district high school student, look for opportunities to tour El Camino College during a High School Visit to our campus.

MyECC

MyECC is the online portal for El Camino College students.

Once logged in, students can view their Registration Appointment, register for classes, add/drop classes, pay fees, purchase a parking permit, check their financial aid status, make a counseling appointment, or complete the new student orientation.

For in-person assistance using MyECC, stop by the Warrior Welcome Center in the Student Services building. Registration assistance is also available.
