College classes.
Students in Grades 9-12 can take almost any course offered by El Camino College with few restrictions.
Some courses have a Prerequisite or Enrollment Limitation which restricts enrollment for college and K-12 students alike.

Fall Semester 2026 is 16 weeks, August 24 to December 12, 2026 (with some 12- and 8-week classes). Dual Enrollment is limited to 11.0 units during the fall semester.
Important notes for Fall
Winter Session 2027 is an accelerated 5-week term, January 4 to February 4, 2027. Dual Enrollment is limited to 1 course during the winter session.
Spring Semester 2027 is 16 weeks, February 16 to June 12, 2027 (with some 12- and 8-week classes). Dual Enrollment is limited to 11.0 units during the spring semester.

The Class Schedule displays a list of El Camino College classes offered during a given term. Use the Online Class Schedule to find class sections and view the number of seats available and location (On Campus At El Camino College, Online, Hybrid, etc.)
Important dates for each term can be found on the Academic Calendar, including the start and end dates for each term, deadlines to add or drop a class, and holidays.
K-12 students taking El Camino College classes are responsible for purchasing any required textbooks/instructional materials. Search for course materials by class section to learn the cost before you register, then purchase after you register.
The Academic Program Mapper is an online tool that can display all of the courses needed to complete a degree or certificate. Select a meta-major and then a degree or certificate to view the classes which a sample student could take to achieve that educational goal.
Use the Catalog to view degrees and certificates, transfer pathways, and detailed information about every course offered by El Camino College, including course title, description, prerequisites (if any), number of units, and CSU/UC transferability.

It is the responsibility of the high school student to complete the steps below to dual enroll in El Camino College classes.

Reminder! To attend El Camino College after high school, students need to apply for admission again as a first-time college student. See also: What happens after I graduate from high school?
Below are tutorials to make sure students have successfully applied to El Camino College, receive their Welcome Email, can sign into MyECC — and more!
After you submit an application for admission, you will receive a few different emails right away — one of which will contain your 8-digit Confirmation Number.
Within 1-3 business days, you will be sent your Welcome Email with important information about your El Camino student account.
The first time you sign into MyECC, you will prompted to create a new secure password.
Required security feature! Follow these steps if you see "Let's keep your account secure" when signing into MyECC.
In case you need to update or correct the information on your El Camino student account.
Starting Fall 2026, Grades 9-12 use DualEnroll for to register for El Camino College classes.
Students, Parents, and High School authorized users (typically a counselor or administrator) each complete steps in DualEnroll.
It is the responsibility of the Student, Parent, and High School to complete their steps before the Start Date of the class.
Important! Make sure to use the Online Class Schedule before selecting classes in DualEnroll. DualEnroll does not display which classes have seats available, which are waitlisted, and which are closed.
Follow the directions in this Student Guide for ECC Classes:
Parent Consent is a step that is completed by a student's parent or guardian.
This step is completed only one time! For more information, see Page 7 of the Student Guide.
Every class selected in DualEnroll requires approval from a high school counselor or other administrator.
After both Parent and High School steps are completed, DualEnroll will attempt to register you for the class.
Students can click the Status tab in DualEnroll to check what step they are on for each class.

Registered classes will show a status of "Complete" in DualEnroll.
Some courses have a prerequisite which students must clear before they can be registered.
If you have not already started or completed a prerequisite course at El Camino College, your status will display "Student: Clear Prerequisite" in DualEnroll.
Click "Student: Clear Prerequisite" to complete this step.

Click the Choose File button to upload one of the following:
Upon completing this step, El Camino College staff will review your uploaded documentation, add the appropriate clearance to your El Camino student account, and resubmit your registration.
Registered classes will show a status of "Complete" in DualEnroll.
After a class is full, its status will change to Waitlisted in the the Online Class Schedule. If the waitlist is full, the status will change again to Closed.
In DualEnroll, high school students who select and are approved for a Waitlisted class will be on the step of "Student: Section Full - Select Option."
For more information about waitlists and support to complete this step, follow this tutorial.
Important! If you join the waitlist for a class which has a prerequisite, make sure you also clear the prerequisite.
In DualEnroll, high school students who select and are approved for a Closed class will be on the step of "Student: Choose Another Section" and cannot join the waitlist at this time.
Registered classes will show a status of "Complete" in DualEnroll.

Online classes are delivered using Canvas.
Make sure you can access Canvas before your classes begin.
Registered classes will likely not appear in Canvas until the Start Date for the class.
Make sure to begin your Online classes on the Start Date so you are not dropped by the instructor for non-participation.

Enrolled courses and grades earned will appear on your El Camino College transcript for college credit.
Any and all high school credit is determined by your high school. Each high school sets their own policies and procedure to obtain credit, but commonly involves submitting your El Camino College transcript after you receive your final grade.
